Ford Endeavour, which got a minor cosmetic update a few months back in India, is schedule to get an All-New Next-Gen model soon. The company has already unveiled the concept which is also displayed on this page and the production version will be based on the same.
Now, as per a report published on Autoindustriya.com, production version of the next generation Endeavour (also known as Everest) will be unveiled globally somewhere around November 14, days before the Los Angeles Motor show.
While Indians loved the Endeavour thanks to its brute, muscular and truck like looks, its sales had slithered downhill because of the increasing competition and more alternatives. The next generation car gets a change in design philosophy, and will be available in the familiar trapezoid front grille like the one on the EcoSport.
The Endy has so far been sold in India via the CKD route but there are some serious rumors floating that Ford may decide to increase the localisation levels. The huge chunky wheel arches continue to remind us that the Endeavour is about brute muscle and the overall SUV now looks a lot fresher.
The chassis will continue to be the tried and tested ladder frame unit and the engine options internationally are expected to be 2.2 L and 3.0L engines with manual as well as automatic gearboxes in two wheel as well as four wheel drive modes. Interiors will have a 7 seater layout and will also be getting a steering wheel following the DNA of the EcoSport. Ford would also throw in their newly developed Sync system for a pleasurable and practical infotainment system.
Indian launch is expected sometime middle of next year, which is when the next-gen Figo and its sub 4 meter sedan version will also be introduced here.
