Mercedes is slated to begin selling the small A-Class in the German market soon. The hatchback is priced at a starting tag of 23,978.50 Euros which is around 16.7 lac INR for the entry level A 180 BlueEfficiency 122HP 1.6L petrol engine.
The top of the line is the A250 Sport is powered by a 2.0L petrol engine and costs 36,860 Euros (25.75 lac INR). There are 2 more petrol options available. A-Class would also have 3 diesel trims with 2 engine options. The base variant is powered by a 1461cc diesel engine capable of producing 80kW of power and 260Nm of torque. The other two variants are powered by the same 1.8L engine with 80kW/250Nm and 100Kw/300Nm tunes.
All the 7 variants sit between 16 to 25 lacs in Germany. Now, we have Mercedes launching the bigger B-Class in India this year, we expect that Mercedes would price the A-Class somewhere around the 15-20 lac bracket in India when it would be launched in a couple of years from now.
