Ford Fiesta Facelift Reaches Dealerships: Launch Within a Few Days

In an interesting but expected development, Ford Fiesta facelift has been spotted at a dealership in South by the folks at Ford EcoSport Group Facebook page confirming that the company has started dispatching the car to its various dealers.

The car here belongs to Kairali Ford, as gets cleared by the dealership specific temporary number plate. Kairali Ford is company’s dealership in Kochi. A few days back, we have shared exclusive spyshots of new Fiesta from an ad agency in Gurgaon signalling that the promos and ads have been prepared and we are in the final stages of launch.

Spotting at the dealership (and with dealership logos), this is the final signal before the launch gets official. It is interesting that we have not received any update from the company regarding the launch date.

Another interesting bit to note is that this car is also the TDCI diesel version, almost confirming the speculations that there will not be any petrol on offer, at least initially. The diesel is the same 1.5L motor which does duty on the current Fiesta and EcoSport.

New Fiesta is the facelifted version of current Fiesta and comes with Aston Martin inspired front radiator protection grille. Unlike the Ford Figo/Ka, which now houses a honeycomb grille, new Fiesta has retained the horizontal chrome lines, making it stand out from the EcoSport and the rest of the family.

The car does look impressive from the front and we can almost guarantee that the fantastic driving traits of Fiesta will get carried over. However, we would have loved the 1.0L EcoBoost petrol motor to make way on the new Fiesta. With the diesel motor, it will be fuel efficient, no doubt but the fun factor will be solely missed.

Ford India saw its revival with the crossover EcoSport and hope that the rise continues with the new models that they have lined up. The Fiesta should be launched any day now and we are waiting for a media drive/launch invitation from Ford to hit out mailboxes.
