Along with Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai also had a fantastic year of 2014 with hit products such as Xcent, new i20 etc. To continue building on their portfolio, the Koreans have plans to plug gaps in their lineup for this year.
Apart from minor niptucks and special editions, according to what we know Hyunda has at least three new product launches planned for 2015. Out of this, two will be in the fast moving crossover/compact SUV segments. Here is the list of what is coming from Hyundai along with their expected launch periods.
1. Hyundai Verna Facelift
- Engine: Petrol & Diesel
- Transmission: Manual & Automatic
- Launch: 18th February
- Expected Price Range: Rs 7 to 12 Lakhs
Invitations have already rolled out and the new Verna facelift is coming to face the new City and Ciaz on 18th of February. On the changes front, it looks like the new Solaris of Russia and gets a new face and most probably tweaks to the suspension, engine as well as the interiors.
2. Hyundai i20 Cross
- Engine: Petrol & Diesel
- Transmission: Manual & Possibly Automatic
- Launch: March 2015 (may be around 9th)
- Expected Price Range: Rs 6 to 9 Lakhs
First busted by MotorBash, i20 Cross will join the Avventura and other crossover hatchbacks which are gaining popularity of late. As we have revealed, i20 Cross will come with a higher ground clearance, bigger tyres and enhanced braking as the major changes apart from the cosmetic bits that it will gain in order to differentiate from sibling i20.

3. Hyundai ix25 Compact SUV
- Engine: Petrol & Diesel
- Transmission: Manual & Possibly Automatic
- Launch: Festive Period. Around Sep-Oct 2015
- Expected Price Range: Rs 7 to 11 Lakhs
This will be Hyundai’s best bet of the year and their ix25 will slug it out against the popular Duster and Terrano duo. According to latest reports, Hyundai may use a different name for our market and it will come with Verna’s 1.6L petrol and diesel engines.
