The month of September brings with it the aroma of the oncoming festive season, preparations of which are already in swing in many places. In order to cash in on the uplifted buying mood, automobile manufacturers lineup some interesting launches and like in the earlier years, we have the following car launches scheduled for the month of September.
Car Launches in September 2015
At the moment, we know about the following four cars that are confirmed (or almost) for this month. We will update this list as we get more invites/confirmations…
- Maruti Suzuki Ciaz SHVS:
Maruti’s first ever hybrid in the country, the new Ciaz SHVS will come equipped with Suzuki’s mild hybrid system. It will be the first launch of the month on 1st September and will be replacing the regular Ciaz diesel. We have understood about three new features it will get apart from an expected fuel efficiency of around 28 kmpl!

- Land Rover Discovery Sport:
The first premium SUV in the country to sport a 5+2 seating arrangement, the Land Rover Discovery Sport will be launching on September 2. The highly versatile SUV is being brought to India via the CKD route and as per the company, it has already crossed 200 bookings. The engine option is expected to be the familiar 2.2 litre SD4 unit in two power outputs of 147 bhp and 187 bhp. Transmission includes a 9 speed automatic gearbox.
- Mahindra TUV 300:
The TUV 300 will be Mahindra’s first real competition against the Ford EcoSport. The sub 4 meter SUV is expected to be powered by the same 1.5 litre mHawk diesel engine seen in the Quanto albeit with some tweaks. The Tough Utility Vehicle (TUV), yes Mahindra calls it that, will be launching on September 10.
From the recent spyshots it gets confirmed that TUV will get a high nose with flat roof and there is a marked resemblance with the Jeep’s Cherokee!

- Renault Kwid:
Set to be the smallest car from the Renault pavilion, the Kwid is expected to launch later in September after its media drive which is scheduled on 11th of the month! To be powered by a new 800 cc petrol mill, the Kwid is based on the CMF-A platform jointly developed by the Renault Nissan alliance. The car is also expected to get an AMT gearbox which will make it an ideal competitor to the Altos and WagonRs!!!
