XUV500 W6 Automatic is the cheapest in lineup!
As India’s love for automatics grows, Mahindra is trying to make the most out of the opportunity. In a latest, they have launched the 6 speed auto unit in the lesser W6 variant of XUV500. Priced at Rs 14.29 lakhs (ex-showroom, Navi Mumbai), the automatic variant is a little over a lakh rupees expensive than the corresponding manual trim.
The W6 AT variant will be available at all Mahindra dealers with immediate effect. This raises the tally of automatic options to 4 which helps the brand offer convenience to a wider variety of public at different price points. Other variants include W8 FWD AT, W10 FWD AT and W10 AWD AT.
Here’s what Mr Vivek Nayer, Chief Marketing Officer, Mahindra, had to say about the launch:
“The Automatic Transmission of the New Age XUV500 has resonated very well with our customers since we launched it in November 2015. I am sure that the availability of the Automatic Transmission across variants and a range of price points will now render this technology more accessible to a larger base of customers and make the XUV500 a more attractive proposition amongst a wide spectrum of buyers.”
The XUV 500 is the only product in its class to offer a second generation 6 speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive option (W10 AWD AT). Sourced from Aisin, the renowned Japanese auto component manufacturer, the automatic variant aids in hassle-free driving specially in congested roads. Mahindra has also recently introduced automatic transmission in the XUV 500 in Australia.
