Mercedes Benz has announced the Season 2 of the Young Star Driver Programme. This is a wonderful platform for identifying the racing talent hidden in the country.
Like its first edition in 2013, young drives will be competing against each other at the Buddh International Circuit. The whole event will be judged by Vicky Chandhok, the chairman of Federation of Motorsports Clubs of India (FMSCI).
Registrations are now open for all hopefuls in the age group of 18 to 25 years. Priority will be given to those who have already got some achievement in the world of motorsports. Experience in racing though, is not mandatory. Chandhok’s team will shortlist 24 candidates. They in turn will be pitted against each other to qualify for the top 6 slots. They will slug it out against each other at the Buddh International Circuit on August 8, 2014. The elimination round, to find the top 6 drivers will take place on August 7.
The winner will get to be a part of the AMG Driving Academy PRO-Training in Germany. He also gets to meet the F1 racing stars of the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg during any of the Formula One races this year. The runners-up get to be a part of the AMG Driving Academy Basic and Advanced course in India.
