With the possibility of a global unveiling soon, AutonetMagz.net have leaked the brochure of the upcoming Next-Gen Innova. This also gives us a confirmed and clear idea of how the MPV will end up looking in its next avatar.
The MPV boasts of a double barrel projector head lamps. The huge hexagonal front grille gets two chrome slats which are extrapolated to the head lamp cluster as LED daytime running lights. The indicators have been moved to the fog lamp console which in turn seem to have been inspired from the Camry. The huge grille also helps the new Innova to appear to be carrying a bigger, wider and taller front fascia.
Powering the second generation Innova will be an all-new 2.4 litre GD diesel mill producing 149 PS of maximum power at 3,400 rpm. It will be mated with a 5 speed manual gearbox and 6 speed auto unit churning out 342 Nm (at 1,200 rpm to 2,800 rpm) and 359 Nm (at 1,200 rpm to 2,600 rpm) of torque respectively. The engine is expected to be more fuel efficient and silent than the outgoing 2.5 litre unit. It shall also get two driving modes, Eco and Power.
The new Innova will get 7 airbags and added safety features like Vehicle Stability and Hill Assist control. The dashboard reminds a lot of the new Fortuner and has a car like look and carries a dual tone black and beige theme. A 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system has been included with support for Bluetooth, aux and SD card. Also present will be a cooled glovebox, all auto power windows and a smart entry key.
However, Toyota’s VP, in an exclusive word with us, informed that neither the new Innova or the next-gen Fortuner will be launched in india within the next two years (report here)… so the wait is long…
