We had seen some terrific products from the house of Opel in India which is a General Motors brand now. We all remember the Astra premium sedan and the corsa twins. However, Opel packed their bags a few years back and left India.
Now, an Indian Autos Blog reader has shared a few spyshots of the latest generation Corsa which was caught in Bangalore. The first thing is that the new gen Corsa looks fantastic and yes bears a little resemblance with the earlier-gen Hyundai i20! This was the 3-door version of Opel Corsa hatchback with the ECOFLEX badge.
Actually, there are 3 ECOFLEX badged engines in the complete Corsa lineup. 1.0L and 1.2L petrol motors and 1.3L diesel in 75PS and 95PS outputs. The 3-door gets the 1.0L, 1.2L petrol and the 75PS diesel, while the 5-door gets both the petrol and the diesel in both the tunes.
However, if you thought that Opel/GM is testing it here for an Indian innings again, let us ruin your hopes. According to what we understand, Opel doesn’t have any plans to launch any of their models in India again, including this Corsa hatchback. GM has a technical center in Bangalore which caters to GM’s global product platforms and this Corsa might just be here for something related to that.
