SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) is going to celebrate this World Environment Day in a very unique way. Via the help of their initiative Society for Automotive Fitness & Environment (SAFE) over 5,500 automobile dealers will be organising several environment safety and conservation related activities.
No matter how much we deny, factors like global warming has severely depreciated the situation of the environment in the planet. It has also been the trigger behind several environmental catastrophes like flash floods, drought, erratic weather patterns, forest fires, deforestation et al.
These mass awareness campaigns will be organised nationwide on June 5 and June 6 which will include activities like free day long PUC (pollution under control) check-up camps. Located at car and bike dealerships, one can get a PUC certificate made easily, that too free of cost! The campaign will also include several other activities such as a drawing competition for kids, environment conservation tips for customers, sapling distribution, tree plantation, green processions, awareness rallies, etc.
Via SAFE, SIAM believes people can be educated and made aware about the dangers associated with the degradation of environment. This will ultimately lead to sustainable use of natural resources and help humankind lead a long and peaceful life in this planet.
