SPIED: 2013 Skoda A7 Octavia Caught Again, This Time in Pune

A sudden spurt of spyshots have screamed loud and clear that Skoda is striking back and the Czech manufacturer is coming up with the 2013 Octavia A7 in India.

After its earlier sightings in Mumbai and Goa, the new Octavia has been spotted in Pune. This is the same (apparently) higher model of Octavia with smoked headlamps and glossy black roof. The 2013 Octavia has recently been launched in Turkey and the car can be clearly distinguished from its sharp headlamps and butterfly grille.

It will be based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform and will be a replacement for the existing Laura in India. A head-on competition against Cruze and segment leader Elantra will be worth a watch. Skoda is expected to launch the new Octavia A7 in India towards the middle or second half of this year.

While we are currently unsure about the engines but Skoda might retain the same 1.8L TSI petrol and 2.0 TDI diesel motors in India. This car also adorns the new international logo and lettering theme which Skoda has already started using in India on its website.
