So, finally it gets confirmed that Tata Safari Storme is indeed launching on 17th October. Tata displayed the Safari Storme in this year’s Auto Expo at Delhi.

And since then there have been innumerable speculative launch dates that have gone by but Storme did not come. Now, since it has got confirmed that Safari Storme is launching on 17th October in India, there is a funny and interesting scenario building up. Mahindra has also officially confirmed launch of Ssangyong’s first product for India, Rexton W on the same day.

Now, is this a game of upmanship or just a mere coincidence, we are unsure but this does look like a business ploy. We already know a lot about Safari Storme and have spied it on numerous occasions in and around Pune. The SUV does look massive and has a good road presence.

Tata Safari Storme has been long awaited

What remains to be seen, however are the changes that Tata is projecting it has made on the final production version of Storme. Tata has to be really careful in pricing the Storme so that it doesn’t bomb at the sales charts.

Storme is a very important product from Tata and there are a lot of hopes pinned upon its success. Looking at the amount of hype it has created, there are big chances it would be a big success and well received in the market provided Tata doesn’t messes up with its pricing. An ideal starting price for Storme could be around that 9 Lakh mark spanning across to 12 Lakhs for the top of the line variant.

This way Tata would have a well placed line-up of passenger SUVs starting from Safari

  • Safari: 8-10 Lakh
  • Safari Storme: 9-12 Lakh
  • Aria: 12+ Lakh

Any further and Storme would eat into Aria’s already battering sales which, I am sure, Tata would not want. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and see what is going through Tata’s minds. Meanwhile do check out these Tata Safari Storme scoop articles which we have published earlier…
