Toyota Brings Minor Updates to Etios Sedan and Etios Liva

Toyota India has launched updates for the Etios sedan and Etios Liva hatchback which are surprisingly priced cheaper than the outgoing version. To make this possible they have removed the previously available J variant. The hatchback now ranges from Rs 5.24 lakhs to Rs 6.28 lakhs for petrol and Rs 6.61 lakhs to Rs 7.44 lakhs for the diesel. The sedan gets a new name and is called as  Platinum Etios costs between Rs 6.43 lakhs to Rs 7.83 lakhs for the petrol and Rs 7.56 lakhs to Rs 8.96 lakhs for the diesel.

The siblings get a redesigned front radiator protection grille. The bumpers too have a sharper look which lends the car a sporty aura. But believe us when we say that there is not sporty about the engines. The petrol remains the same 90 hp 1.5 litre mill while the diesel 1.4 litre has a measly 68 hp output.

The Etios Liva gets new alloy wheels while the Platinum etios has a chrome strip on the bootlid and reflectors on the taillamps. The Etios sedan also gains a new foldable rear armrest. Other changes to the interiors of the car include a new dual tone instrumentation panel, new seat fabric and foldable rear seat.

While the refreshed models may be a disappointment in terms of changes, Toyota has thankfully continued to have a no nonsense policy with safety. ABS, EBD and ISOFIX seats are standard across the range. All the seats get three point seatbelts while the front gets pretensioners and force limiters.
