Days after Chevrolet announced that they will be bringing the new Trailblazer to India, the SUV, in its modern avatar has been spotted for the first time in the country. Spied by the folks at Indian Hoods, the camouflaged test unit is seen to reveal that it will follow the international update.
With a redesigned front fascia similar to the Colorado pick-up truck sold in the US, the SUV gets sleeker head lamps with LED daytime running lights. It also gets a beefier front bumper, larger fog lamps and wider grille. The rear end styling though remains the same, in fact it is almost as if the designers forgot about the tailgate.
Interiors though shall include an new dashboard layout in a more premium avatar. An 8 inch MyLink infotainment system, available in the top end global model is also expected to trickle down to the Indian car. The amount of chrome too has been increased, especially on the grille outside and around the air con vents in the interiors.
Powertrain wise the new Trailblazer will continue with the same 2.8 litre Duramax diesel mill churning out 200 odd horses and a massive 500 Nm of torque. A bigger 3.6 litre V6 petrol engine is also available globally but will folks at Chevy India vote for it considering the premium because of the recent shunning of diesel fuel in the country? However, what we will love to see is the presence of four-wheel drive system to give it proper arsenal to take on the competition.
The new Trailblazer can be launched anytime in the next 24 months, at least that’s what Chevrolet India has claimed.
