Honda Brio To Serve As the MPV Platform, Expected to Come to India

Seems Honda has understood the market trends and is keen to follow the foot steps of other companies. Honda, recently has revealed that their MPV will be based on the Honda Brio! And yes, only the platform and components will be borrowed from the car. All this happened at the inauguration of a new plant in Jakarta.

There is a huge possibility that this MPV will make it to Indian shores quite quickly. And since almost every other car maker is out there to make their own MPV, it will be worth a watch to see how Brio MPV will perform. What we think is, these points can make it an instant hit, just add these to prepare:

  • An economical diesel engine with reasonable power delivery with huge loads of torque.
  • Quite a lot of use-able space with lots of cubby holes as well.
  • Huge mileage figures to go with the competition, no less than 20 kpl for the diesel will work.
  • And a ground-breaking price tag, well of course.

It would be great to see the Honda Brio hatch, Honda Brio sedan and the MPV to outperform many biggies if Honda can keep the points right. The petrol MPV and sedan might end up with the existing 1.5 litres petrol engine pumping out around 116 bhp and 146 Nm of torque.
