Ford is busy preparing their next stalwart – the compact SUV EcoSport for India which would be launched here in early 2013. Alongwith, our neighbour Nepal would also get to taste the adrenalin of EcoSport next year.
Ford’s authorized distributor in Nepal, Go Automobiles‘ director Mr. Akash Golchha said: “The compact size of the Ecosport will fit well in the Nepali roads and we are hopeful that the new car will be loved by Nepali customers”. “We are expecting the car to enter the Nepali market by the end of March next year”, he added.
The EcoSport which Nepal would get would be manufactured at Ford’s Chennai plant and shipped to the Himalayan country. EcoSport will get the same 120 PS 170 Nm 1.0-Liter EcoBoost Petrol Engine as India. This gives us a hint that Indian launch, in all probability, would happen before that.
Test mules of EcoSport are already on our roads and we have shared with you spy shots of the EcoSport with PowerShift automatic box. In Nepal, it will also get the 6-Speed PowerShift box.
EcoSport would be one of the most awaited products from the Americans and Ford would definitely want to replicate Duster’s success which (Duster) has taken Renault to 7th slot in terms of sales in November 2012.
