Hyundai has showcased its All-New Sonata at the New York Motor Show. Based on the evolved Fluidic Sculpture 2.0, the new Sonata is inspired by the design of another Hyundai car, the Genesis.
Carrying the trademark Hyundai hexagonal engine grille, the new Sonata boasts of even sharper lines and edges. The headlamps add menacing appeal to the car’s identity, and the roofline creates a better silhouette of the vehicle. The changed identity of the Sonata will definitely help it to attract more customers, and it will retain its position as an important brand in Hyundai’s kitty.
The new Sonata’s dimensions have also been increased from before. This has led the way for more interior space. Technically-advanced in nature, the Sonata has achieved 41 percent greater torsional rigidity through the use of high-strength steel. Hyundai also claims that the use of such material provides a sportier drive, and it has been named “Dynamic Driving Experience”.
The new Sonata has significantly brushed-up interiors too. Two-tone interiors provides a classy and timeless appeal, and will definitely pamper the buyers. Hyundai has improved the touch-screen cum infotainment system, and has added more features. It has also added the latest electronic guardians such as Cruise Control for the safety of the car.
The Korean version of the car will come with a choice of three engines. They are :
- 2.0 CVVL with 168 PS
- 2.0 LPi with 151 PS
- 2.4 GDi with 193 PS
The car will be available with the option of either a Six-Speed Manual transmission, as well as a Six-Speed Automatic transmission. Though we aren’t sure when is Hyundai considering launching the new Sonata in India, we do hope it arrives here soon.
