Maruti’s Manesar Plant to go Operational From 21 August; 500 Workers Fired

After a long lull of no work at the Maruti’s Manesar plant because of the deadly riots that took place on July 18, production will start finally from 21 August.

The Manesar unit would be guarded by a complete battalion of  500-600 policemen from Haryana Police. Maruti manufactures Swift, Swift Dzire, SX4 and A-Star at Manesar and it has an annual capacity of 5.5 Lakh units. Maruti will churn out 150 cars per day when the plant goes operational after almost a month.

Investigations have been in swing and there have been 114 workers arrested who were found related to the riots. Out of the 3000 total workers, 500 have been fired till now.
