Slated to be seen for the first time in flesh at the Geneva Motor Show, the new Evoque is going to be the most efficient production Land Rover ever (18 per cent more efficient than the present version claimed). It is also the first JLR product to feature full LED adaptive head lamps technology.

XF 2.2L Diesel Executive Edition Launched: Cheapest Jaguar yet!

In a bid to increase its footprint in the Indian luxury car market, Jaguar today announced the launch of a new edition of its current entry-level offering, the XF sedan. Launched only as a diesel variant, the new XF Executive Edition sports the 2.2-litre engine, which until now could only be found under the hood of the Luxury version that costs INR 49.38 lakh (ex-showroom) in Delhi. The latest edition has been priced at INR 45.12 lakh (ex-showroom, pre-octroi) in Mumbai making it the cheapest Jaguar you can buy in India right now.

‘Cheap’ sounds like a misnomer here actually when you are talking about a segment where there are cars like this one along with the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series, and Mercedes E-Class. Nevertheless, the XF has become more accessible now. But in the process, in the Executive Edition guise, it has lost out on some of the features of the Luxury XF like the Rearview Camera, Memory Function for the driver seat and mirrors, Front Passenger Seat Away button, and Sunroof among a few others.

New Discovery Sport to Roll Out From JLR’s New Manufacturing Plant in Brazil

Jaguar and Land Rover have started the construction of their state of the art manufacturing facility in Rio de Janerio in Brazil. This Brazilian Real 750 million (Rs 1804.33 crore) worth facility will also have the first overseas Education Business Partnership Centre. The ceremony was attended by the state Governor for Rio, Luiz Fernando.

Jaguar XE and Land Rover Discovery Sport debut in Paris

Tata Motors’ Jaguar Land Rover chose the Paris Auto Show for the global debut of new models, the Jaguar XE sedan and the Land Rover Discovery Sport. Both the vehicles had been unveiled last month but the global launch was much awaited.  The pricing has been announced too – the entry-level XE would cost 27,000 British Pounds while the Discovery Sport would be available for less than 30,000 British Pounds. That comes to around INR 27 lakh and INR 30 lakh, respectively, before duties in India.

2015 LR Discovery Sport

The latest Land Rover is not to be confused with the bigger Discovery 4. The Discovery Sport is basically a new Freelander, albeit with enough changes to justify the ‘Discovery’ and ‘Sport’ in its nomenclature. For example, unlike the Freelander, the Discovery Sport’s rear suspension features a mutli-link set up instead of MacPherson struts while the front set-up has been lifted from the Range Rover Evoque.
