PRICE SLASHED: One of the Best Driver’s Car- (Fiesta) Classic Now at Rs 4.99 Lakh

To help gain more buyers in the entry-level sedan segment, Ford will very soon give its Classic sedan a radical price reduction. In a recent report published at Economic Times Vinay Piparsania, Executive Director of Marketing & Sales & Service has shared that the new Ford Classic range will start at Rs 4.99 Lakhs!

The Ford Classic is essentially a renamed version of the original Ford Fiesta sedan that went on sale in India from 2005. Currently, it is the oldest model on sale in the sedan segment. Despite its age, it still remains one of the most sought out choices in a segment that is crowded by competitively-priced sedans like Maruti-Suzuki Dzire and the Honda Amaze. More cars are en-route, with reports suggesting that sub-4 metre entry-level sedans are in the works at the stables of Tata and Hyundai.

Apart from a very compelling entry point, the top of the line variant will also retail at Rs 7.6 Lakhs. Dealers have been initiated of the price revision and this repositioning, Vinay says, is in sync with Ford’s ‘Go Further’ global promise. This price correction makes Classic petrol as one of the best driver’s car in the segment. On the other hand Classic diesel is not as fun to drive but a decent lugger and a proper size sedan.

We aren’t sure if there will be other changes accompanying the price revision of the Ford Classic sedan. New prices will be applicable with immediate effects.

What this restructuring will also provide Ford is the room to keep the upcoming Fiesta facelift more competitive. Reports suggest an entry tag of Rs 6.99 Lakh when it goes on sale later this year (More Details).

  1. Ford is focusing on everything except for their After-Sales-Service which is still pathetic. The Ford SVCs are an owner’s nightmare. The Ford Classic 1.6 petrol is a good car but a guzzler….built quality is still an issue, the fiber parts in the interiors start rattling post 2 years of use.
