Maruti is very serious with their recently launched mid-size sedan, Ciaz. The company has already registered bookings of over 10,000 units till now and we expect deliveries to begin soon.
After a long wait, Maruti Ciaz has finally been launched in India at an attractive starting prices of Rs 6.99 for petrol and Rs 8.04 lakhs for the diesel variant, ex-showroom, Delhi. Ciaz will be fueling a new war in the segment which has seen the entry of new City, Fiesta, Vento and others recently.
Maruti’s attempt to go premium will first see the onslaught from the City and Verna rivaling Ciaz sedan, which has been built specifically for emerging markets like India and China.
Suzuki’s SX4 was Maruti’s second attempt to enter the mid-size sedan segment after the Baleno. Sadly both the products did not yield favorable results even though both of them were pretty good cars.
Maruti is real-time busy these days. At one end they are busy working on their first ever light commercial vehicle (LCV), and at the other their upcoming crossover S-Cross and Celerio Diesel are taking shape. However, amidst all this the first product to come to our shores is the mid-sized sedan Ciaz.
